The Nasdaq listed cryptocurrency mining agency Riot Blockchain has acquired a crypto mining website in Texas for $650 million.
The deal will see Riot Blockchain take management of Whinstone’s mining facility in Rockdale, Texas. Whinstone is owned by Munich Stock Exchange-listed information infrastructure firm Northern Data after an acquisition in Nov 2019.
The transaction will see Riot Blockchain pay Northern Data 67 million euros (US$80 million) in money and 11.8 million shares of widespread inventory. When the deal is completed, Northern Data will maintain 12% of Riot Blockchain’s excellent inventory, in accordance with Northern Data’s announcement.
The Texas facility will eat one gigawatt of electrical energy, and sits on 100 acres. Northern Data has touted it as the biggest information middle in North America, and the biggest Bitcoin mining facility on the earth.
