Morgan Stanley Buys Over 28,000 Shares of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust

Megabank Morgan Stanley has bought 28,289 shares of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust by way of its Europe Opportunity Fund, based on an SEC filing.

Grayscale is owned by CoinDesk guardian firm Digital Currency Group.

Morgan Stanley has been more and more energetic within the cryptocurrency house in latest months to satisfy rising demand from its purchasers. In April, the agency allowed a handful of its funds to speculate not directly in bitcoin by way of cash-settled futures contracts and Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust, together with the Institutional Fund, Institutional Fund Trust, Insight Fund and Variable Insurance Fund.

Each fund could make investments as much as 25% of its belongings in bitcoin, based on earlier SEC filings. The Europe Opportunity Fund features a combine of Europe-based corporations within the expertise and non-technology house, and different investments.

In March, Morgan Stanley debuted bitcoin funding fund merchandise for high-net-worth clients and started recruiting for a cryptocurrency and blockchain lead analyst.
